Mental Health Assessments

You will meet with a licensed therapist to complete an assessment interview. The therapist will ask questions about symptoms, behaviors, treatment history, family and social supports, etc. The assessment usually lasts about an hour. It is up to you whether you complete the assessment by yourself or have a significant other or family members participate as well.

The therapist will use the information gathered during the assessment to identify your specific needs, make treatment recommendations, and make referrals for any services needed. Assessments are confidential and will be shared with other professionals or agencies only if necessary, and only with your permission. If you prefer, the therapist can help with scheduling follow-up appointments, to make accessing services as easy as possible.
