SHC Day Program - Civic Responsibility

During the Day Program we aim to teach our participants about the responsibilities of being members of their community. This week we focused one community outing on our civic responsibility by volunteering at the Make A Day Foundation pop-up event; Haircuts for the Homeless. Our clients were able to participate as“friendship builders,” in which they built connections with other volunteers and those attending the event. Each of our clients were able to interact in some way and seemed to have a profound impact on both those volunteering and attending.
